“Catch These Hands” is a series I want to like so much yet each volume manages to gently disappoint.

It has so much going for it- the setup, the characters, the goony awkward “dates” the main pair go out on- but all of it lands ever so slightly flat. It is missing a certain edge, a weight and impact to its events that would push it from being vaguely disappointing to a lovely gem. The artwork has some fun foibles but is equally missing that final 5% of personality that would make it whole.

I’ll still buy volume 4 as that is the last one and I may as well see it through.
